Karkala, Dec 15: A ninth standard student was allegedly raped by a youth at Banglegudde after coaxing her to come to his house.
Chicken stall trader, Malabari Mohammed Elias Mohammed Shafi (21), resident of Banglegudde is the accused.
The-14-year old girl is a resident of government quarters under the control of Taluk office in Hudco colony.
An educational institute had arranged for a picnic for high school students on Sunday, December 13 and the student’s mother had left her in the school at 8 am and gone back.
After that the girl was missing. The house people came to know about it and she was found with the help of the police. Mohammed Shafi who had come near the school has taken her to his house and allegedly raped her.
A relative of the girl had died in an accident in Brahmavar and the house people had gone there. That helped Shafi to commit the crime.
