Five policemen killed in Bihar road accidents


Patna, Dec 15 (IANS): At least five policemen were killed and three others seriously injured on Tuesday in two road accidents in Bihar, police said.

In Rohtas district, a speeding truck hit four policemen near a toll plaza on National Highway No.2. A sub inspector and two constables were killed on the spot. An injured constable was admitted to a hospital in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the truck driver managed to run away. 

In Jiradei in Siwan district, two policemen on patrolling duty were hit by a speeding truck, killing them on the spot. Two other policemen sustained serious injuries. 

Following th accidents, hundreds of angry local residents blocked the road in Siwan and Rohtas districts.
