Banner printing made easier with new Xerox Versant series

Mumbai, Dec 15 (IANS) Xerox India, a part of Xerox Corporation -- the world's leading enterprise for business process and document management services -- has launched banner printing devices for Indian customers.

The Versant 2100 and Versant 80 printers were launched with digital presses Colour 1000i Press with Gold, Silver and Clear Options and Xerox Colour C70 and the company also showcased its FreeFlow Core workflow solution for the first time in the country.

The products were showcased at the recently concluded PAMEX 2015 exhibition in Goregaon, Mumbai.

"We launched the banner printing capabilities in the Versant 2100 and Versant 80 and we believe that this option will further add a lot of value to our customers. This feature was well appreciated by customers and print providers at PAMEX," Balaji Rajagopalan, executive director, Technology, Channels and International Distributor Operations, Xerox India, said.

For the first time in the country, the company showcased the Freeflow Core workflow solutions, which with its automation toolset, will remove costly manual prepress steps eventually reducing costs and reducing the time it takes to get jobs through.

"It will enable customers to free up resources from repetitive tasks and move them to higher value jobs. We also showcased two other key digital presses -- ColourPress 1000i with Gold, Silver and Clear Options and Colour C70," Rajagopalan added.

Digital press is a machine that enables printing from a digitally-based image directly to a variety of media.

"We have already installed more than 100 units of C60/70 alone in 2015 and hope to replicate the success with all our other devices. Customers, partners and print providers were excited to see the Colour Press 1000i and its exciting features," Rajagopalan noted.

"This device is the first in the industry to offer Pantone Metallic Gold or Silver dry ink at rated speed in addition to Clear Dry Ink which enables highlighting specific areas and also gives a raised impact with up to seven layers," he explained.

This feature opens the door for new revenues by migrating lucrative foil stamping applications, such as invitations, certificates and business cards, to short-run, high-value digital production.

The multi-pass printing with these specialty dry inks adds an extra textural/dimensional feel and "pop" to documents for attention grabbing effects on a wide range of applications.
