Udupi, Aug 24: The inauguration of college union of Kaup Government First Grade College was held at college premises on Thursday August 23.

M R Hegde, prinicipal, PPC Technical College, inaugurated the college union and called the students to acquire the life skills along with college education.

Lalaji Mendon, MLA of Kaup presided over the function. He said that the college is located in an interior area. An action plan has been prepared to shift this college into the town, he informed.

At the same time, about 500 plants were distributed in the college, with the association of forest department.

Taluk Panchayat members Ramesh Hegde and Jagadeesh Acharya, College development committee president B Jinaraj Shetty, principal Shamanna, College Union president Praveen Shetty, secretary Umesh, Kaup range forest officer M R Yogeshwar were present on the dais.

Prasad Rao officiated the oath taking ceremony. Stephen Quadros compered the programme.
