Congress wins Jharkhand Assembly by-election; says people have lost faith in NDA

Jharkhand, Dec 17 (IANS) : The BJP-led NDA on Thursday suffered a setback in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga assembly by-election, losing it to the Congress by a huge margin.

Congress’ Sukhdeo Bhagat defeated BJP-backed All Jharkhand Students Union’s (AJSU) candidate Niru Bhagat by 23,288 votes. Bhagat managed to bag 73,859 votes, while the AJSU could get only 50,571.

The three main candidates were convicted legislator Kamla Kishore Bhagat’s wife Niru Bhagat of AJSU, Sukhdeo Bhagat of the Congress, and Bandhu Tirkey of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P).

While the JVM-P candidate got 16,951 votes, as many as 2,019 people opted for NOTA — none of the above on the voting machine.

At least 67 percent of the 2.20-lakh electorate voted on December 14 in the Lohardaga assembly by-election to a seat that fell vacant after AJSU legislator Kamla Kishore Bhagat was convicted and handed down a seven-year jail term in July in an extortion case.
“People have started showing mirror to BJP. The people of Lohardaga have given their response to the one-year governance of the BJP in Jharkhand,” said Alamgir Aalam, a Congress legislator said.

There were nine candidates for the seat that is reserved for tribals.

BJP who got absolute majority in LS election started loosing steadily for NOT pursuing people friendly policies such as:
    1. curbing price rise
    2. deteriorating law and order
    3. tax and judiciary reforms
    4. not maintaining peace and harmony in society.
    5. Not improving infrastructure.
Contrary BJP is steadily following communal policies or not able to curb communal forces.
I am happy that INC winning, but sad that INC is not doing anything seriously for peoples welfare like AAP. Even Nitish Kumar takes peoples welfare seriously.

Jaharkhand assembly by election result is not a set back to NDA, real set back will be during the year 2019 lok Sabha results, if they loose that election, that's the biggest set back & doom for NDA. Long way to go.
Karnataka council election results on 30th December 2015 will also gauge how much congress has gained or lost. After that there are state elections coming up for Punjab, UP, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Assam & Goa.
So long way to go, so people will judge accordingly how much set back either UPA or NDA will receive.
No one can predict, anything can happen.
Till then enjoy the Christmas spirit & be prepared for New year.
    Merry Christmas.

The people of India are chocking under the BJP rule they are afraid of eating what they like to eat, and deteriorating law and rule of law.
Personal freedom is the greatest asset of the citizens in a democratic nation, but that is now a bygone history in India.

So, one after another, BJP a party of no political mandate and agenda will be losing in the elections.

Before commenting know the facts right.Vypam under CBI investigation and all other accusation about bjp scams are false and it is political gimmik of pseudo congress party. They even not filed any case about these accusations and given not even iota of proofs. If really congress find any corruption about bjp leaders y not go and file case. They have a bunch of good lawyers in rhier party. They r only shouting in TV channels and not able to prove in anywhere. If anybody is corrupt or not proves only by courts not by political parties.
