Mangalore, Aug 28: A one-day conference on ‘Reforming the Degree courses in the light of Globalisation’ was organized by the Association of First Grade College Principals (AFGCP) of the Mangalore University at the SDM College of Business Management here on Sunday August 26.
Inaugurating the conference B Nagaraj Shetty, district-in-charge minister, said that the contribution of government to field of education was insufficient when compared to the private educational institutions in the city, as well as when compared to their achievements he added.
He further said that still most of the schools and colleges in villages lack basic facilities. Lack of efficient leadership is the main reason for the hindrance in the progress of any sector he added.
As it was a coalition government there would naturally be pressure from both the sides, he alleged.
He further informed the principals and managements to work hard for the progress of the institutions of the government.
On this occasion the retired principals were also felicitated.
