Mangalore, Aug 28: ‘Clean Mangalore’ campaign was organized by the Ganapati high school under the auspices of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC), a fortnight ago and students from different schools of the city joined the campaign.

Students of the school within the city including Ganapati High School and Pre University College and the peripheral areas took out a rally through thoroughfares here, on Monday August 27.

The children carried placards, information brochures and handbills. The rally later split up into smaller groups which went into different residential areas and delivered meassages on how to keep the city clean.

Manjunath Shetty, the environmental officer of the MCC pointed out that most of the places in the city generate a large amount of garbage, which can neither be separated nor be dumped. Therefore he urged people to follow the new system that was launched two months ago.
