Officer, constable injured in Kashmir guerrilla attack


Srinagar, Dec 24 (IANS): A senior police officer and a constable were injured on Thursday in a militant attack in Anantnag district in south Kashmir.

"Militants attacked a police party in Goriwan (Bijbehara) in Anantnag district today," a senior police officer told IANS in Srinagar.

Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Bijbehara, Irshad Ahmad Rather, and a constable were injured in the attack, he said.

"Both the injured policemen have been shifted to hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off for searches."
