Mumbai, Dec 24: “I am happy that I am participating in the school anniversary programme. We feel sad when we see Japan and China which have become developed countries without the love of foreign languages.
We are still a developed country even though we have studied other languages along with our own languages. Talented people who have studied in Kannada medium have also achieved high status, power and earned wealth,” said Ramesh Shenoy, chief guest of school anniversary programme of VPM Kannada school, Mulund on December 11. He distributed prizes and wished the programme well.
Dr P M Kamath, president of the programme, honorary chief secretary of the Mandala expressed concern at the decreasing number of students in Kannada medium schools in Mumbai.
