Modi wishes Malaviya on birth anniversary


New Delhi, Dec 25 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished late freedom fighter-educationist Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya on his birth anniversary.

"On Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya's birth anniversary, we remember with pride his long lasting contribution to our Nation," Modi tweeted.

The prime minister also shared a picture of a letter written by Mahatma Gandhi to Malaviya.

Born on December 25, 1861 in Allahabad, Malaviya, was the former Congress party president and a freedom fighter.

An educationist with a vision, Malaviya established the Banaras Hindu University.
