Congress wins five local body polls in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Dec 26 (PTI): After spectacular success in Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha seat, Congress today won five out of eight local body elections for which polls were held recently.

BJP won local body elections at three places, including Sehore, the home district of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It also won at Mandsaur Municipal Corporation and Shahganj Municipal Council.

Congress won Shahjapur Municipal Council, Bhedhaghat Nagar Panchayat in Jabalpur district, Majhouli Nagar Panchayat in Sidhi district, Dhamnod Nagar Panchayat in Ratlam district and Orrcha Nagar Panchayat in Tikamgarh district.

The victory turned the mood at Congress headquarters here into a jubilant one with party workers bursting crackers and distributing sweets.

In the eight local bodies, elections were held in 179 wards and among them BJP bagged 93 corporators post while Congress got 60.

But, in all Congress won in five local bodies while BJP was confined to three.
Congress Chief Whip in the Lok Sabha and Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed his gratitude towards the people for reposing faith in the party and congratulated the winning candidates.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Spokesman K K Mishra said, "The winds of change which began from Bihar and has its effect in Ratlam-Jhabua has now percolated down to local bodies which means the beginning of end of BJP rule in the state and revival of Congress in an effective manner".

State BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that his party has accepted people's mandate with all humility and would continue to serve them and will not leave any loopholes in it.

By winning the recently-held Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha bye-poll, Congress increased its tally to 45 in the Lower House of Parliament.

Some Civic poll results vote, determine the future leader of India. Its definitely not a Cong a revival. The people have voted for the candidates who really qualified. Cong can bounce bank at national only if the KHANdis are shown the door.

congress should understand that nationalistic indians would have voted for congress even before if it was headed by madhavrao scindia, rajesh pilot, sharad pawar etc.
even now if kamanath or jyotiraditya scindiya is made congress president or pm candidate and shunt out the family politics or family control, people may vote for congress again.only if congress projects a candidiate who is capable to make independent decisions and not in any direct or indirect control of a individual or a family and believes in power with accountability, then they have chance to come back to power once again.
else if congress future revolves only arround family politics and even if pm candidate is choosen who is directly or indirectly controlled by the family, then even these muncipality and bye elections wins will prove futile when country searches for a independent leader to become pm in 2019 lokasabha elections.

Some impressive performance from Congress while comparing to earlier. That means people are ready to give opportunity to congress again. But question is whether congress is ready with good leadership to handle that ?

BJP's Ram Madhav (ex - RSS functionary) is talking of Akhanda Bharat (to include pakistan, Bangla & nepal). Is only ideal to think & wish for...!!!

    The realty check ..,

In my opinion, in all likely not a prudent move, every Hindus must think twice about such move.., as it has a potential to tilt the political equation in favor of Muslims.., which may potentially damage the secular credentials of Hindustan for ever (without prejudice).

RSS thoughts, speeches and works are always contradictory.
Born out of hatred, one side they are provocating Hindus against Muslims, Christians and backward castes!
Other side talking about Unity between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh!
Their idea of annexing Pakistan and Bangladesh with India will run havoc within India. Muslims and Hindus will almost equal.
Off course it will never happen!
Recipe for disaster like in Syria.

The recent stopover of the PM at Pakistan is aimed at the ensuing Assam and UP elections which has a seizable minority vote bank. Having alienated the minorities by aggressive majority appeasement the PM has realised that their vote base in the North Indian states is dwindling and is now trying to use foreign trip gimmicks to fool the Indian electorate. This will not work as can be seen from MP, Gujarat, Bihar and Rajasthan results. God save him from now on.

For failing to keep election speeches promises, price rise and deteriorating law and order in the country,
BJP is steadily loosing elections everywhere in favour of INC and other secular forces!
Voters do not belong to anybody permanently.
Their mantra is perform or perish to political parties!
False promises back fired Modi. Nitishkumar displayed Modi's past recorded speeches, and said to his voters he will come again to give more promises.
No one believes a deceiver continuously!
Modi failed utterly in his own game.

BJP MP Ram Madhav is talking about 'Akhand Bharat' that one day India, Pakistan and Bangla Desh will unite, but BJP is finding difficult day after day even to remain in politics let alone contesting the elections. Instead of Akhand Bharat BJP's Hatya Khand is most certain.
