Her brother Mallesh has been arrested in this connection.
It is learnt that Susheelamma, a resident of Chennagiri in Davangere, had gone missing about 10 days ago and a case in this regard was registered in the local police station. It was suspected that as there was some family dispute over property, she might have been murdered by a close kin.

The murder is said to have taken place 10 days ago, and sources said that Susheelamma was killed in Agumbe and her body thrown at Charmadi Ghat.
On Saturday, the Chennagiri police arrived at Charmadi Ghat along with the accused and looked for the body with the help of Beltangady police. The body was finally found over a hundred ft down the Ghat, sources said. It was then sent to a hospital in Deralakatte for post-mortem.
