Social network for students, academicians

Kolkata, Dec 28 (IANS): Want to connect with the best of academicians in India? Wish to know what is happening in their labs? Log in to Techtud, a new platform that acts as a social network linking students and teachers from across the country.

Just as you would create your profiles on popular social networks, Techtud enables students and teachers to do the same.

"If a student is looking for a potential job opportunity or the chance to work with an eminent professor, then they can access the details on the platform," Pritam Prasun, co-founder and CEO of Techtud, told IANS on Monday.

At the moment, the site connects mainly engineering students but it will soon extend to other branches as well, said Prasun, an IIT-Kharagpur alumnus.

Faculty from IITs and other prestigious institutes are part of the initiative to maximise access to opportunities for students via the internet.

Most importantly, the online portal seeks to bridge the gap between high-end colleges and other institutes across the country in terms of curriculum and project work, said Prasun.
