Udupi, Aug 31: Four of a family from Vaddarse Madhuvan near Kota here died in a gory, head-on collision between a car and an iron ore-laden lorry that took place in front of the Shri Shambhavi Vidyadayini School at Kota Giliyar on Thursday, August 30 evening.

The deceased, a man and three women of the same family, were travelling in the ill-fated car. Their names, according to the police, are Abdul Rahman (32), his mother Rahmanamma Fatima Bi (55), and Rahman's two sisters-in-law, Baby Sabi (34) and Khadija Bi (32).

Rahman, who owned a cellphone repair shop in the panchayat complex at Saligrama, was driving the car. He along with his mothers and sisters-in-law were returning home after visiting an ailing relative in a private hospital in Kundapur. Rahman's face is said to have been disfigured beyond recognition.  While his mother and sister-in-law Baby Sabi, who were occupying the rear seat, died on the spot, his another sister-in-law Khadija Bi, is reported to have died on the spot.

After completion of medical and police formalities at the Kota primary medical centre, the bodies were handed to the family members.

    The daily news on accidents literally scare people going out to travel...Firstly the damaged roads are the cause of this.government or the corporation promise public loads of things and never fulfil promises....Secondly the mine vehicles are really careless and only try out overtaking and become cause of collisions...action must me taken on these on public nuisance.!

    The government is not repairing the roads in Mangalore. Every time only the innocent people die. Politicians family should face such things, then only they will know people's value of life
