Mangalore: National-level Workshop Inaugurated at Fr Muller’s

Mangalore, Aug 31: The inauguration of the National workshop on application of biostatistics in research took place in the medical college hall at 8.45 am in Fr Muller Hospital hosted by Fr Muller College of nursing on Friday August 31.

Prof Dr Indrani Karunasagar, HoD of microbiology department, at College of Fisheries, Mangalore was the chief guest. She spoke on the importance of inter-disciplinary approach in today’s disciplines. The things prevalent today were present even in the past, but have become more analytical due to the solution by statistics. Researches are nothing but the ordinary repeated activities. It only needs to be solved with provoked thinking. She advised the participants to work hard, which will take them for greater heights.

Director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions Fr Patrick Rodrigues who presided over the function, in his presidential speech highlighted on the importance of research and the use of statistics.

Sr Jacintha D’Souza, principal Fr Muller College of Nursing delivered the key note address. Prof Prema Celine D’Souza, the vice-principal welcomed and Agnes A J, the organizing secretary proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion.

Over 300 delegates from the different parts of the country participated in the national- workshop will conclude on Saturday September 1.
