Defence minister, army, air force chiefs to visit Pathankot


New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, along with Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh and Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha will visit Pathankot in Punjab on Tuesday in the wake of a terror attack at the air base that has killed seven personnel.

The visit comes as combing operations are under way at the air force base where a battle between security forces and terrorists went on for three days.

The defence ministry and the NSG have so far confirmed the killing of five terrorists.

Sources said a sixth body found is yet to be identified.
