Heavy fog in Delhi on Friday morning


New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): Heavy fog enveloped Delhi on Friday morning with the visibility at 8.30 a.m. slumping below 50 metres and the minimum temperature recorded at 12.06 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average.

The sky would remain partly cloudy throughout the day with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, an official of the India Meteorological Department said.

At least 24 trains were cancelled, 19 trains were running late and one was rescheduled due to dense fog.

According to the weather office, the humidity was recorded at 100 percent.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 24.7 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average.
