Couple, son found murdered in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 10 (IANS): A middle-aged couple and their son were found murdered in their house early on Sunday in central Delhi, police said.

The bodies of Jyoti Sunariya, 48, and her son Pawan Sunariya, 21, were found when their domestic help reached their house in Old Rajinder Nagar area around 9 a.m.

Police called to the spot later found the body of Jyoti's husband Sanjay Sunariya, 51, from a cupboard.

"The murders seem to have been committed on Saturday night. We have begun questioning victims' relatives, neighbours and family friends," Joint Commissioner of Police S.K. Gautam said.

Police said the house was ransacked though no valuables were found missing, indicating robbery was not the motive behind the killings.

Sanjay worked with the sales tax department and also ran a property business while Pawan was a mechanical engineering student at Rohini's Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology.

"Since there was no forced entry, it seems the family was known to the culprits. Some evidence indicates towards property dispute," the officer added.
