Dubai, Jan 15: Festival cricket will be escalated to the next level in the upcoming Globelink West Star Shipping LLC Mangaluru Premier League (MPL) conducted under the patronage of Ajman Cricket Council at the Ajman Oval between March 4 to 8.
8 teams will battle it out in this unique event where for the very first time the skills of both the team owners and the players will be tested. The team owners can use their cricketing knowledge to choose the players from a pool of talent registered under www.canarasports.com in an innovative player auction. The players thus chosen will showcase their talent in the T20 spectacle to follow on the turf of Ajman Oval.
The team owners can choose their icon player and have 2 owner choice players. They will also have a unique Trump Swap option for one more player. The rest of the players from the 18 player member squad will be selected through the auction based on Skill Value Point System (SVPS).
Each team owner will get a maximum of 500 SVPS with each player valued at 1 SVPS at the beginning of the auction.
The exclusive cricket tournament is open only for Karnataka and Kasargod players who can register on ww.canarasports.com depending upon their availability during the month of March and April. All Teams will be provided color kits. Winner and Runners Up will get cash prize and trophies. Attractive prizes to be won for man of the match, best bowler, best batsmen and man of the series.
Commentary and ball by ball updates will be seen on www.canarasports.com with the semi finals and finals being streamed live on www.canarasports.com, an attempt to reach out to the community in the entire UAE.
Participating teams will be associated with a city from Karnataka or Kasargod. This provides an opportunity to garner fan base for the team from those cities. Participation in the tournament will provide the team with the exciting opportunity to get together with the community.
Last date for team registration is January 25. Last date of player registration is on January 30.
