Army Well-Equipped To Deal With Cross Border Threats


Jammu, Jan 15 (PTI): Claiming that there were threats from across the border, a top Army officer today said the force was well-equipped and well-trained to deal with any kind of situation.

"Threats (from across the border) are there as they always have been, but we are alert," Major General Sanjeev Narain, General Officer Commanding (GoC) Tiger Division, told reporters today.

He was replying to a question on the threat perception from across the border following the Pathankot attack and preparation of the Army.

"That is something which is annual feature... Fog and weather etc, but the army is well equipped and well trained to deal with any kind of situation," Maj Gen Narain said.

The GoC of Tiger Division, who laid wreath at the Martyrs' Column on Army Day here, said, "As usual we are keeping tight vigil and maintain it as being done always."

The Army officer said that Army Day is observed every year on January 15 to pay tributes and remember the sacrifices of the soldiers for the nation.
