Cold wave continues in Himachal


Shimla, Jan 16 (IANS): The cold wave continued to grip the hills of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday despite prevailing dry weather, with Keylong region recording the lowest temperature in the state.

"Keylong (in Lahaul-Spiti district) was coldest with a minimum temperature of minus 9.7 degrees Celsius," a Met official told IANS here.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus one degree Celsius.

The night temperature in Shimla was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius, while it was 5.8 degrees in Dharamsala, minus 2.6 degrees in tourist resort Manali and six degrees in Dalhousie.

According to the Met office, dry weather would prevail in the state till Monday.
