Puttur: Illegal Liquor Den Busted - Property worth Rs 12 Lac Seized

Puttur, Sep 6: In an early morning operation Excise police raided a godown at Saroli in Shanthigod village here and busted illegal liquor den on Thursday September 6.

The police raided the godown situated near one Sachin Naik's house at Saroli after receiving a sure tip-off.  The police seized property worth Rs 12 lac and arrested 4 persons in this regard.

The police seized a Swaraj Mazda and Maruti car along with 192 bottles 750 ml each liquor worth Rs 19,200.  The seized property also includes 49 cans 35 litres of each containing spirit, 16,800 arrack sachets stored in 56 sacks. The value of these arrack sachets is said to be Rs 1, 68,000.

A machine worth Rs 1 lac and 1/2 HP motor worth 1,000, 280 litres of whisky, 145 litres of jaggery juice.

The police also arrested Praveen, a resident of Mani, Hanif of Balila in Sullia, Sitaram and Naveen from Arantodu in Sullia and Shashi from Shanthigod.  However, the prime accused Sachin Naik fled the place and is still at large.
