Kasargod: Recently married woman found hanging, harassment alleged

Kasargod, Jan 19: A recently-wed woman was found hanging at her husband's house in Ajanur here on the evening of Monday January 18. It is alleged that harassment by her in-laws drove her to suicide.

 

The deceased has been identified as Veena (30), wife of Suresh, a resident of Ravaneshwaram Kalari, Ajanur. She as originally from Kumble.

Sources said that on the night of Sunday January 17, Veena had called her parents and said that her in-laws were harassing her.

On Tuesday evening, Veena's brother Naveen Kumar went to her in-laws' house in Ajanur to bring her back to her parental house, but found the house locked from the outside. He then called his brother-in-law Suresh on his cell phone. When Suresh came to the spot and opened the lock, they found that the door was locked from the inside too. When Veena did not respond to knocks, the door was broken open and she was found hanging inside.

Veena was the daughter of Narayan, a driver by profession in Kumble, and Devi. She got married to Suresh on November 29, 2015.

The police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

The body was sent for autopsy to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital.

    When I wrote a comment on some other suicide case, many people did not like it. What I wanted to convey was the person who has committed suicide is gone, but my intention was to convey a simple message "Suicide is not a solution". Now again I want to convey to the girls if your parents have supported you till your marriage, they can support you till your end. Hence do not commit suicide. Please

    its sad even in 2016 such incidences are happening. Feeling very sad.
    Actually there is no problem in this world that cant be solved through dialogues, Sucide no remedy at all

    This is growing problem where the In-laws are harassing to newly married couples either from boy's side or girl's side for their selfish agenda.
    I recent incident a lazy, dictator type in law(Mother-in -Law) who sits in the house from past 35 yrs, never work hard or willing to work harassing married couples to fulfill her demands, such in-laws are silent killers of married life of anyone, these crocodiles has to be punished in public, these things are happening every other house in our society, no one has to right to interfere in others married life.
    RIP to Veena, god will punish your killer sooner or latter.

    So sad .hardly married and is already left the world.what make to think is she was inside the house and where were her in-laws?over that house was locked from out side.what mystery is this?Did in laws left the house and locked from outside when they found her hanging?may her Soul rest in peace.other side have to think whether she was locked in house ,thatswhy she hanged herself?mystery.People dont give a Girl to a unknown house and People from far.please inquire about them previously.Heartfelt sympathys to her Family.
