Eminem's sister-in-law dies of drug overdose

Los Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS): Rapper Eminem's sister-in-law Dawn Scott allegedly died due to drug overdose. She was 40 years old.

Scott passed away on Tuesday in the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit in a "shabby mobile home", reports radaronline.com.

Scott had been friends with Eminem since she was a youngster. She is the twin sister of the singer's ex-wife Kim Matthews and the birth mother of the former couple's daughter Alaina.

Eminem, who now lives in a lavish mansion nearby, went on to marry Scott's sister Kim and the couple eventually adopted Scott's daughter Alaina.

"I've been trying like hell to save her life. I've had numerous conversations with Kim about trying to get her help and it just wasn't a conversation she wanted to have," write Les Martin, who had known Scott for a long time said.

While Eminem is worth approx $170 million, Scott died homeless and with almost nothing to her name.
