Mangalore, Sep 8: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police seized large quantities of illicit  spirit from within a mini lorry near Deepak Petrol Pump, at Baikampady on Saturday, September 8.

The DCIB team headed by the police inspector A D Nagaraj raided the lorry on the basis of a definite tip-off. In this connection the police have also arrested Babu and Robert for transporting illicit spirit. The mini lorry was on its way to Kerala. The cost of the seized spirit and mini lorry has been estimated at Rs 3 lac.

At the same time, the police team headed by SP Satishkumar, raided three shut-down industrial premises on Saturday, September 8, and from one of the said industrial godown they seized the spirit which were illegally stored there.

SP Satishkumar stated that, recently large quantities of liquor were also seized at Puttur. The spirit for this liquor had been supplied from Baikampady. Hence, these raids have been conducted, he informed.
