Bengaluru, Jan 25: As per information gathered, Najmul Huda, who was arrested from Mangaluru had been appointed as Amir-E-Asgari (battalion commander) of Khalifa Army (Janud Ul Khalifa-E-Hind) in India. Moreover, it is said that the suspected terrorists taken into custody from the city and five other cities and town in the state were in constant contact with Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, supreme leader of terrorist organization, Islamic State (ISIS).
Najmul Huda when arrested
Quoting sources, Press Trust of India said that ISIS had instructed its elements in the country to organize attacks during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, in which French president, Hollande will be the chief guest.
After failing to set up a firm base in India in the past, ISIS had declared Mudabbir Mustaq Sheikh as the head of its new outfit here, Khalifa Army. As per information, Mustaq, who owned responsibility to expand and strengthen base of ISIS in the country, received directions from head of ISIS, Bagdadi directly.
Khalifa India Army came into being within a short period, and Mudabbir Mustaq happens to be its Amir (head). Rizwan Ali from Kushinagar, UP, happens to be the deputy chief (Naeeb-Amir) of Khalifa Army, while Najmul Huda was the battalion commander. Muhammed Nafees Khan from Bihar was made Amir Vyulat (finance minister), it is said.
Even as high alert has been sounded on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations, six persons suspected to be having links with certain unwanted activities were taken into custody from Vadodara in Gujarat. They are being questioned. In the meanwhile, Maharashtra government has placed ban on 94 websites which were used to spread the ideology of ISIS.
On Sunday, Abu Anas and Safees Khan arrested for their l links with ISIS from Hyderabad were produced before National Investigation Agency (NIA) court, upon which they were given to the custody of the agency for 13 days.
Rizwan Ali, who was taken into custody from the outskirts of Mumbai by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad on the allegations of appointing young men to ISIS, was handed over by a Mumbai court to police custody till January 30. Rizwan had been brought here from Kushinagar in UP.
