Mangalore: Another Rescue Team Reaches Tannirbavi to Save ‘Chang Le Men’

Mangalore, Sep 9: Another team of 6 rescuers from Singapore reached Tannirbavi, to work out plans to save the tilted ship ‘Chang Le Men’ on Sunday Sep 9.

The ship had tilted at Tannirbavi beach on Thursday Sep 6, 2007. 





Eight marine experts already reached the city to save this ship from sinking. But they were unable to draw the final conclusion about the plans to rescue the ship.

On the other hand, the rescuers collectively decided to pump out the water from the ship, in an effort to restore the balance, on Sunday Sep 9.

After balancing the ship, they will start the further operations, sources said.









Tannirbavi beach has witnessed a huge crowd on Sunday too. People thronged here on Sunday evening to watch the tilted ship.

    Just imagine, we have no mechanisim to salvage the Ship. We need to call the foreigners to help us, than what is the use. Indian Govt. should apply their mind and find out ways and means to come to the rescue of such accidents so that timely help can be provided. Imagine, had it been an Indian SCI ship than what you would have done.

    Many people are to blamed for this mishap.First the Captain of the Ship for negligence,Secondly the Port authorities for clearing the ship immediately on loading,thirdly the authorities who make the laws in India since nowhere in the world a ship which is 20 years old is kept afloat.

    Normally in the european countries the ships are withdrawn on completion of 8-9 years of life and these ships are used in developing countries.All concerned are equally responsible for the negligence.As it is the coastal belt's environment stands battered and with such incidents it will further more make life dangerous for the sea inhabitats.
