Margao, Sep 10: Taking a further step towards going hi-tech, the Margao Municipal Corporation, after implementing the first computerized citizen facilitation centre, is now planning to introduce the 'Biometric Finger Scan Reader' to keep watch on their workers' attendance.

"This gadget machine can record ten thousand workers' information. We have five hundred-odd workers, and it will help us maintain attendance by computerized way," said chief officer N D Agarwal to Daijiworld correspondent.

According to sources, municipal workers, taking advantage of their seniors' absence in the office, were using the time of MMC for their personal work. To curb this malpractice, MMC has planned to install the hi-tech machine.

With this, the muster roll and punching card system will be outdated and it will be replace by the new system.

Agarwal said the tenders called for would be opened on September 17 and the bidder would picked and date of installation would be announced thereupon. He added that the system would be reality next month.told that it will come in reality next month.

He also told that it will be mandatory to filed supervisors to come in MMC first, and then go to fields. Usually field supervisors used to go first on fields.
