Sensex gains 106 points in early session


Mumbai, Jan 29 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday was trading 105.79 points, or 0.43 percent, up during the morning session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 39.80 points, or 0.54 percent, up at 7,464.45 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,347.31 points, was trading at 24,575.36 points (at 9.22 a.m.) in the early session, up 105.79 points, or 0.43 percent, from the previous day's close at 24,469.57 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 24,623.56 points and a low of 24,340.06 points in the trade so far.
