Action in 'Saagasam' a notch higher than original film

Chennai, Feb 1 (IANS): Actor Prashanth-starrer forthcoming Tamil outing "Saagasam", the remake of Allu Arjun's Telugu blockbuster "Julayi", is said to be more action-oriented than the original, a source said.

"There's a crucial action sequence at the interval block, which was extremely well shot in Telugu and was considered one of the highlights of the film. Though the same has been replicated in the remake, the action has been taken a notch higher," a source from the film's unit said.

The scene unfolds on a busy highway.

"It was shot for nearly three weeks on two highways and a flyover. It wasn't an easy scene to shoot, but Prashanth ensured there was no compromise in the output. He was extremely co-operative and was willing to do anything to get everything right," the source said.

The film, which is a comeback vehicle for Prashanth after five years, is directed by debutant Arun Varma.

According to the source, Prashanth's overall performance in the film will win over audience.

"This won't look like his comeback film. He has performed as though he has been working without a break. He has outperformed himself in action and dance departments. While most young actors struggle to use ropes while performing action, Prashanth has mastered the art," he added.

He even aced the emotional scenes, added the source.

"There's a very important emotional scene between Prashanth and Nasser, who plays his father. Prashanth's performance in this scene will move audiences to tears," he said.

The film, which will release on Friday, also stars debutante Amanda, Sonu Sood, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nasser and Robo Shankar in important roles.
