Moodbidri, Sep 11: Yakshagana is a depiction of the fantasy world and not a reality show declared A Eshwarayya, the editor of “Kalavihara” one of the supplements of the Udayavani daily newspaper.
Eshwarayya was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the valedictory function of the “Rashtriya Tenkana Yakshotsava 2007” of Yakshamanjusha here. This function was conducted under the aegis of Alva’s Education Trust at the Padmavati Kalamandir, Moodbidri.
The said editor of the Udayavani supplement proudly informed that Yakshagana was the famous art of Karnataka. He advised the youth of the country to make Yakshagana popular throughout the country and at the same time they should also imbibe and learn all the other art forms of the country, he added.
The function was presided over by the president of the Alva’s Education Trust, Dr Mohan Alva and the chief guest on the occasion was D Harshendra Kumar from Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
Director of Yakshamanjusha Saravu Krishnabhat was also present on this occasion.
