Kasargod, Feb 3: Raghavan happens to be a political leader of eminence in the district, having led a number of protests, agitations and mega rallies. He was a political leader backed by a large following till his facade came off with the help of the footage of a closed circuit television camera (CCTV).
It has now been revealed that Raghavan, a CPM leader, was undertaking thefts at night. After footages of CCTV in the residence of an entrepreneur living abroad revealed that Raghavan was the man involved with theft there, he has become untraceable.
Some CCTV footages were released to social websites by the police personnel of the district, with the specific objective of tracing the culprits with the help of people. The video footage showing Raghavan as a thief has created a flutter in Kerala, and the CPM has ousted Raghavan from the party.
Raghavan entered the house of Muhammed Younus, a non-resident Indian entrepreneur. After noticing that a person was loitering around the said house on Monday midnight, neighbours called up relatives of Younus and informed them. The relatives conveyed information to the police. By the time policemen reached the spot, the thief had fled, but his movements were caught on camera by CCTV. As the camera clearly caught the person's image, who was wearing a white dhoti and shirt with a bag and an iron rod in hand, everyone could clearly recognize him as CPM leader, Raghavan.
