Bantwal, Sep 12: The rural police here have arrested one person who is accused of attempting to rape a teenaged girl on Tuesday September 11. 

He is identified as Abdul Salim, a resident of Ira 5 cents colony, in Irapadav village. The said accused runs a grocery store in his neighbourhood and has been doing so for the past ten years.  

The father of the victim lodged a complaint with the rural police stating that, Abdul Salim  attempted to rape his teenaged daughter by taking her to a nearby a culvert.  The police in the said jurisdiction has arrested him and produced him in the court.
