Atletico Madrid agree to deal for Brazilian teenager

Rio de Janeiro, Feb 3 (IANS): Spanish club Atletico Madrid has reportedly agreed to sign highly rated Brazilian teenage footballer Caio Henrique.

The 18-year-old has already confirmed his departure from Brazil's Santos, who he joined at the age of 10, reports Xinhua.

"It's a different and difficult moment for me," Henrique said on social media. "Today I want to thank Santos FC and say goodbye to this institution that opened its doors for me. I came here very young, devoted eight years of my life and I'm thankful for the privilege of wearing the Santos shirt."

Brazilian news portal Sambafoot said Atletico agreed to a deal for the talented midfielder at the behest of football agent Jorge Mendes and former Barcelona playmaker Deco.

Henrique, who is yet to play for Brazil's national side, was linked to a move to Valencia last year.
