Feb 4 (Emirates247): Wet weather will sweep across northern UAE on Thursday, with a marine warning in place forecasting 12 feet high waves in the Arabian Gulf, coupled with strong winds.
A slight drop in temperatures will also result from the turn in weather, even as humidity levels rise to give way to early morning mist on Friday.
Speaking to Emirates 24|7, a spokesperson from the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said: "Increased cloud cover, coupled with northwesterly winds will give way to some rainfall in the northern part of the UAE, mainly Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
"The corresponding strong winds over the sea will also give rise to rough seas with wave height reaching highs of 12 feet."
The NCMS further added, wind speeds over land will remain moderate to fresh, which could raise dust and sand over open areas.
The spokesperson continued: "The weather will bring about a slight two-degree drop in temperatures, but humidity levels could increase in the night to make way for Friday morning fog in the internal and coastal areas."
The weather on Friday will see a drop in cloud cover, even as the marine warning remains in place.
