Vivek Mahajan is the General Manager -Training at Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX). He is a Chartered Accountant by profession with an experience of over 25 years in financial advisory, portfolio management, trading and stock broking. He has served as vice-president of the Calcutta Stock Exchange and has conducted seminars and workshops with Stock Exchanges, Chambers of Commerce, Reuters etc., on various financial products, stocks and commodity markets. He is also an expert technical analyst and is a member of The Society of Technical Analysts, UK.
His presentation will focus on what are commodity futures and how are these traded - with a special reference to the range of products offered by DGCX. The potential risks and rewards associated with commodities trading will also be explained. The presentation will also deal with simple techniques of risk management and expose the usual ‘mistakes’ committed by traders and investors. Finally, the participants will learn to look upon ‘price volatility’ as a money-making opportunity rather than a threat.
Norbert Morris Shenoy is the Managing Director of Deca FZE in U.A.E and Arunanjali Securities in India – brokerage firms dealing on National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange in India. Earlier Mr. Shenoy served as a senior officer in Reserve Bank of India for 21 years in various capacities including deputation with NABARD. He specialises on NSE Futures and Options trading. He holds a masters degree in Financial Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.
Shenoy will attempt to provide a historic perspective of the Indian Capital Market and dwell on the opportunities that the market is likely to provide to disciplined investors, in an environment where the Indian economy is steadily but surely emerging as one of the fastest growing and most diversified economies in Asia. It will also briefly touch upon the total overhaul of the trading mechanism that has taken place with a forward looking regulatory framework, harnessing of state of the art technology and financial innovation.
