Mangalore, Sep 13: At a press meet held here on Wednesday September.12, DCC president Ramanath Rai stated that for the forth coming local body elections, Congress party workers will hold a party workers' convention for an election campaign at the Town hall, here on Friday September 14. 

Addressing the media persons, Rai informed that at this convention former chief minister Dharam Singh, B L Shankar, uinion labour minister Oscar Fernandes, administrative reforms commission chairman M Veerappa Moily, Karnataka Pradesha Congress Committee president Mallikharjuna Kharge, M P Janardhana Poojary, election observers T B Jayachandra, D M Puttegowda and Prem Kumar will participate.

Applications for the MCC election have been received. Among 297 applicants the list of the final candidate will be announced within two days, he added. To a query on Congress entering into an alliance with other parties, he said Congress will not enter into an unfair alliance like the coalition State government.
