Mangalore Sep 13: The latest news on the stranded Chinese ship ‘Chang Le Men’ is that the pumping out operations at Tannirbavi shore has now been completed on Wednesday September 12 sources here informed.
According to officials who are participating in the task of steadying the ship, the tilted ship has now been recovered from its earlier tilted position. Moreover part of the cargo on the ship has now been shifted to the other side, to complete the balancing process.
After this the only procedure left to be done is to tow the ship back to deep sea and this will be done once the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) technicians give a clearance report after checking, if all the parts and machinery of the ship is in working condition. Once the sea worthiness certificate for Chen Le Men ship is given, the ship is expected to set sail for its destination, sources here informed, which could be any time after 11 pm onwards on September 13.
There is a high tide around 12 pm on September 13 and if all things go well for the stranded Chen Le Men, then the ship will be towed to sea and on the back of the high tide the ship is expected to go off to sea smoothly, at last to its home destination.
