Youth lynched for stealing a goat in Jharkhand


Ranchi, Feb 7 (IANS): A youth was beaten to death in Jharkhand's Lohardagga district on charges of stealing a goat, the police said.

The youth was brutally thrashed on Saturday night in Akashi village, about 90 km from here, a police official told IANS.

The villagers claimed they caught him stealing a goat, the police official said.

The police reached the village on Sunday morning, took the body in their possession, and sent it for post mortem examination.

The matter is being further investigated.
