Owaisi attacks Mulayam, pitches for Dalit-Muslim unity in UP

Faizabad, Feb 7 (PTI): Pitching for Dalit-Muslim unity, controversial AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi today said his party will write a new chapter in Uttar Pradesh politics by bringing together the "two most oppressed communities".

"We will write a new chapter in the state. The two most oppressed communities Dalits and Muslims should join hands on the slogan of 'Jai Bhim, Jai Meem'," he said while addressing an election rally ahead of Bikapur assembly bypoll near Ayodhya where he did not mention the Babri Masjid issue.

He lashed out at ruling Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, accusing them of cosying up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not allowing Muslim leaders in their party to speak up.

AIMIM has fielded a Dalit candidate Pradeep, who belongs to Kori community, from the Muslim dominated assembly constituency of Bikapur in Faizabad where bypoll will be held on February 13 following the death of Samajwadi Party's sitting MLA Mitrasen Yadav.

"Why are Mulayam and Akhilesh scared of me? They have denied me permission 15 times to visit in the last three years after giving different reasons," Owaisi said while addressing the gathering at a college ground in Sohawal area.

"Now I will come again and again to Uttar Pradesh. You will find me here on all ocassion," the Hyderabad MP said.

Attacking Mulayam, he asked why they SP chief "invited Narendra Modi, the man responsible for Gujrat carnage, to his place to attend a marriage ceremony". "All his family members were busy taking selfies on mobile phones (with the PM)," Owaisi said.

Bahujan Samaj Party has decided not to field its candidate in Bikapur assembly constituency.

Hitting out at Muslim MLAs of Samajwadi Party, Owaisi alleged none of them ever raised even a single question for the community and "whenever any one tried to speak, they got a 'shut-up' from Mulayam".

Shehenshaoye.... Delhi was a electrol set back for BJP for sure. Wait how BJP will bounce back there. In Bihar BJP voted bank nis intact and we retained the vote same as before despite coming out of alliance and fighting against 2 major parties. Your Congress is namesake alliance member anyways who are still half of BJP who fought alone. BJP may win or loose states but will retain double the seats in almost all India states and in Karnataka next assembly elections as well. Anymore in India there will be only 2 way politics for sometime. Either with BJP or against BJP. All your tutaputa sickular parties will fight for this anti BJP voted bank and you can imagine who will really "mukth"which we are seeing since May 2014.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi is a most communal guy, divisive force, enemy of secularism, his ideology not different from RSS or BJP.
He is advocating unity among Muslims and Dalits, Why? Perceiving other Indians are his enemies?
India is diverse cultured secular country, can it afford to have such political tie up on the basis of castes and religions?
He is trying to eat up S.P vote base, let him do.
He got good treatment in Bihar, should get similar treatment in U.P as well.

Oh..is it Mr Valerian? In In that case what your opinion on a Church in Udupi holding a special prayer for a candidate' belonging to particular party,s WIN !

Can a religion or community really not influence politics is it!

It's just that when the others do you see it a communal.

Dear SB, I do agree, religious should do their duty sincerely, including our Priests, Ramdev, Asaram Bapu, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar etc. They shouldn't side any party in politics.
Same way politicians should do their job sincerely and not meddle in religion.
However all have right to pray wish for leaders who are good and advocate the policies enshrined in our constitution.
It's for the nation, not against!
It's not a matter between me, you or parties but between those with our constitution and those working against it!

Similarly India is a open country, what policy you may think as duty and right of a political party may not right for some other people and they may think it's a wrong policy. So if you as a community support one political party claiming it as politically correct then the other community will support the party that they think it's politically correct which you think is communal. It's all point of view. What did the party finally do for the candidate whom you prayed for?? For his same honesty he was thrown out. Now in the next elections you will again pray for the candidate appointed by your constitutionally perfect party not this guy who was once your honest good boy with your fav party backing but today he may stand independent and no chances of winning so better support a party candidate and make him honest and politically correct, just to keep the so called communal party out of power.

It's all point of view. We all have our selfish motives that influence our political stances or interests but don't want to admit it, and to be safe act like a fence sitter and give lecture about sickulrisem, communalisem and tolerance.

If in 2002 Godra train fire, why the fire is restricted to only two bogies and why it has not spread to other rail bogies.

What more than 2000 kar sevaks were doing when the 2 bogies got fire.

This action is done within the fringe groups. Those who have done this heinous crime, might be been eliminated by this time.
