Udupi, Sept 13: The 74th Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held here from October 25 to October 28.

Speaking to reporters here recently, Chandrashekar Patil, president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) said that D Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate the programme.

Renowned Kannada writer prof L S Sheshagiri Rao would be the president for the four-day programme, Patil announced.

Nearly one lac people are expected to participate in the said Sammelan, Patil added. During the Sammelan there will be in all 15 sessions on Kannada language, literature, land, water, border and other related issues concerning Karnataka State.

The Sammelan will also have two poetry sessions and a women writer’s session, Patil informed. ‘Geetha Sangeetha’ programme is expected to be of special attraction wherein the singers will sing the songs presented by the poets, created on the spot.

The valedictory session will be attended by the chief minister, he added.
