Mangalore, Sep 16: Meritorious students of the Veerashaiva community who are in need of financial assistance will be given such scholarships, informs a press release.

Students who have passed the II PUC examinations in first class, and  selected for admission to medical, dental, ayurvedic, unani, homoeopathy, B Pharma, engineering, agricultural, animal husbandry, fisheries and dairy courses in the academic year 2007-08 would be eligible for the same, the release further says.

Giving details of the formalities involved, the release states that all eligible students who wish to avail of the financial assistance may apply in a prescribed form, with full particulars on or before September 30. 

Moreover, even the students who have secured first class marks in final year examination of Diploma in Engineering and the students who have got admission to first year Polytechnic Industrial Training and Government Tool Room training institutions during the academic year 2007-08 are also eligible to apply.

Interested students can obtain the applications from Veerashaiva Welfare Foundation, No. 15, 2nd floor, Sri Jayadeva commercial complex Gandhinagar, Bangalore 560 009.
