Bantwal, Sep 16: 'Ganeshotsav'  was celebrated with pomp and piety all over the taluk.  Social and voluntary service organizations have organised  special religious and cultural programmes as part of 'Ganeshotsav'.  The festival of Ganesha has been celebrated significantly in every household.

The festivity was set in motion for four days of 'Ganeshotsv' at Jakribettu, in the taluk, led by former minister, B Ramanath Rai.  The public celebration of 'Ganeshotsav' held in one corner of Sri Venkatarama Temple.  On the other hand, Sri Shivanand Saraswati Swamiji of Kaivalya Math, is engaged in performing 'Chaturmasa' rituals by installing another idol of lord Ganesha in the precincts of the temple.

'Ganeshotsav' has been celebrated with fervour at Sri Rakteshwari Temple, B C Road.  'Ganeshotsav'  has been celebrated with grandeur at Kalladka, Panemangalur, Shamboor, Bondala, Vamadapadav, Farangipet, Neralekatte, Vittal Kadumata, Salettur and nearby areas. 

Heavy security has been provided while additional police force has been deployed in communally-sensitive areas across the taluk.
