Houston, Sep 16: The Indian Pakistani Catholic Association (TIPCA) of Houston, Texas gathered together to celebrate Monti Fest of the Nativity of Mother Mary on September 8 at the Notre Dame Church in Houston, Texas. The celebration began with the rosary to our Blessed Mother followed by solemn mass in English at the Notre Dame church offered by Fr. Francis Kizhakkethazhe, the parish associate pastor.

Fr. Francis gave a meaningful homily on the occasion reminding us of our devotion to Mother Mary and that she goes with us everywhere we go guarding and guiding us. He also emphasized that wherever we are, we take our tradition with us and make it a point to celebrate and honor Mother Mary on her birthday.

After this inspiring homily, the melodious choir led by the Soares family sang the traditional hymn of 'Sakkad Sangatha Melyan' as everyone in a procession brought flowers to offer to our Mother.

Following Mass, the statue of our Lady was taken in a procession amidst joyful singing to the parish hall where everyone gathered for snacks and socializing. Mrs. Amy Mathias, an active member of TIPCA welcomed the gathering and thanked all who helped in organizing. Msgr. Rolando Diokno, the pastor of the church offered the grace. Amongst the gathering, was Mr. Mathew Joseph - a dynamic and spiritual personality in whose home the first school of Mother Theresa was started in Kolkata and who continues to spread the word of God through his charismatic ministry.
