New Delhi, Feb 18 (Zee News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the third most followed leader on photo and video sharing website Instagram.

With 1.7 million followers, Modi is behind US President Barack Obama’s campaign account which is followed by over six million people.

As per a new Twiplomacy study by Twitter Inc, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has more than two million followers.

Although Modi’s Instagram account has posted only 37 pictures, it remains marginally ahead of White House.

According to World Leaders on Instagram, the report which analysed 305 Instagram accounts of world leaders, Modi is the second most effective leader, with 42,439 interactions (comments and likes) on an average per post.

Notably, Barack Obama has over 56,000 interactions for every post on the site.

As per the study, the official account of the Indian Foreign Ministry is the seventh most active Instagram account among all world leaders’ Instagram accounts.

And the most entertaining world leader on Instagram is Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
