Kiss of Love couple Rahul, Reshmi get bail in alleged sex racket case

Feb 18 (TNM) : Kerala High Court has granted bail to Rahul Pasupalan and wife Resmi R Nair, kiss of love activists who were arrested in November last years for their alleged involvement in a sex racket case.

The HC granted bail to the accused as the enquiry team failed to submit a charge sheet within 90 days of arrest.

Rahul and Resmi along with six others were arrested on November 18, from Nedumbassery by the Crime Branch of Kerala police.

As per the bail conditions the couple have to remit Rs. 75,000 as bail bond in the court, and have to be present before the enquiry officer every Saturday and Monday. They cannot travel outside Kerala and cannot publicize any derogatory comments or posts.

In February this year the duo had moved their bail application in the High Court contending that the crime registered against them was a fake one.

The police investigation says that the duo were involved in supplying women and minor girls to clients and the business was mainly done through online messages.

They have been charged with offences under Sections 366 A (procuring minor girl), 370(1) (exploitation of a trafficked person), and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.
