Feb 19 (Khaleej Times): Emirates Post Group (EPG) is introducing "MyHome" service - a personal PO box facility for residents of selected villa communities to improve service.
Under this system - for which a customer must apply - EPG installs a mailbox on a compound wall or near the main entrance of a villa, with separate compartments for incoming and outgoing mail.
Postmen drop off or collect mail daily or three times a week, depending on the option selected by the customer.
"We are pleased to offer this premium service in selected villa communities. This is part of our efforts to deliver mail directly to subscribers' homes under a pilot project," said Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of EPG.
"We are confident that residents of these selected communities will find this service useful and convenient." "The MyHome service was introduced in response to the demand for door delivery of mail. It eliminates the need to drive to the post office to collect mail. MyHome brings mail to the subscriber's doorstep, offering a great convenience," Bin Karam added.
Other features of the MyHome service are free installation, online access to the PO Box, weekly 'eShaar' SMS notifications of received mail, an option to retain the PO box if location is changed, and the locating of the PO box through GPS service.
Customers pay Dh750 for thrice-weekly mail delivery, and Dh1,250 for delivery 6 times a week.
To subscribe to the MyHome service, customers can fill out a form available at all post offices or through the EPG website.
The box will be installed within seven days of EPG receiving the application. Villas can be either owned or rented.
