Mangalore, Sep 18: ‘Hindi Day’ was organized by the Corporation Bank at its Millennium building here on Monday September 17. The programme was inaugurated by B Sambamurthy, chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank.
Inaugurating the programme Sambamurthy stated that by launching web-based education loan facility and branchless banking; corporation bank has become a model for all the other banks.
According to Sambamurthy Corporation Bank is the first bank to bring all its branches under core banking facility.
In banking sector Hindi has become an official language, the chairman informed. In this context he urged all employees to make use of Hindi words in their day-to-day business dealings.
In the presidential address, K L Gopalkrishna, Bank executive director exhorted all the central government officials to promote Hindi language.
Various competitions were organized as the part of the programme. Prizes for the winners were distributed on the occasion.
N R Sheth, the Bank deputy chairman, J P Nautiyal, chief manager and K G R Kumar assistant general manager were present on the occasion.
