PM launches 'Rurban Mission', says his govt is for poor, Dalits

Dongargarh (Chhattisgarh), Feb 21 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the ambitious 'Rurban Mission' for developing 300 villages across the country as urban growth centres amid his assertion that his government is for the poor, Dalits and other oppressed sections of the society.

Noting that the mission was aimed at curbing migration of youth from villages to cities, he targeted the previous dispensations, saying nobody had thought about planning and providing facilities even as urban areas continued to expand and slum clusters continued to come up because of migration.

While launching the ambitious scheme in this remote tribal area of Chhattisgarh, Modi said a "huge country" like India cannot have proper economic development unless even the remotest places are developed as growth centres and provided with urban facilities and "good life" like education, healthcare and internet while retaining the "rural spirit".

"This government is for the poor, Dalits, adhivasis, oppressed and deprived sections of the society. It is for the person standing in the last row," he said.

Listing out various schemes including Swacch Bharat and Rurban Mission, Modi said these are all aimed at bringing positive changes in the lives of the poor people. "This is the only way that will benefit the country and we have started marching on this path," he said.

Under the 'Rurban Mission', he said 300 rural centres, catering to at least four adjoining villages each, will be developed as urban clusters with modern facilities.

100 such centres are targeted to be developed this year itself, the Prime Minister said at the event which was also attended by Chief Minister Raman Singh and Union Rural Development Minister Birendra Singh among others.

"There will be big change in quality of life. Pressure on cities will reduce and new cities will be developed, which will be planned and have good economic activity. I am sure crores and crores of people will benefit from this," he said.

Bhashan, NB schemes of Modi are all fraud on the common man.Though he came from chaiwala group all his projects so far beneficial to rich and corporates only.By not reducing diesel/petrol price in line with reduced crude oil price international he has cheated peoples trust.Withdrawal of import duty on 74 life saving drugs further proved that he is least bothered about poor.Toor DSL & other essential pulse price hike is a big scam on people.Service tax already rosrd by 2% is slated to be raised by another 2% making it 16% shortly.Swatch Bharat cess will also be raised to 1%.Henceforth there will be bike of taxes in between fiscal year even after budget also which Congress/never did.Congress was rejected because of its minority appeasement/scams but BJP is worst than UPA.At least they did not made common man to suffer like present.Disgusting....
I am sure that this dalith/poor policies will benifit only rich like 12 rupees insurance policy...

Here are the few reasons for few people to be dis-satisfied with Modiji...

    1) All NGOs which had a gala time for 10 years looting the country, suddenly find their funding regulated & accountability demanded. Obviously they aren't happy & will bad mouth Modiji..

    2) Direct benefit transfers starting from LPG & will move on to kerosene & PDS. Obviously all those who used to loot in between are frustrated & will bad mouth Modiji...

    3) National resources like minerals & spectrum are auctioned instead of open loot. Obviously first family & few crony capitalists aren't happy & will bad mouth Modiji..

    4) Pseudo secular journalists who used to have high influence in corridors of power ( Barkha-Nira Radia tapes), leaks from cabinet meets even before the meets are over, free flights on board Air India One with PM are being denied these privileges. Obviously they are angry & will bad mouth Modiji.

    5) Left liberals & intellects had promised riots all over India & fascism if Modi was voted to power. Nothing of this sort is happening & the followers of these intellects are questioning them for misleading them in 2014. Obviously they are unhappy & will bad mouth Modiji..

    6) Defense procurement which involved all Italian middlemen & friends of first family like Quattrochi, Michael are being bypassed & direct govt to govt contracts are established with conditions of Make in India. Obviously these middle men aren't happy & will complain to the madam to bad mouth Modiji...

    7) Separatists who were given undue importance have been put in their place. Obviously they are very angry & will use their dens like JNU to create troubles...

    8) Finally RG: Wherever he sees 10 people already gathered will air immediately & start bad mouthing Modiji. Reasons will be given later by Diggy & co...

The rest of India is obviously happy that an honest govt is functioning 24 x 7 in-spite of all these blockades.......Satyameva Jayate....

    Mr. Shetty,

Even if you add another 92 points to make it a complete 100, none applies to a poor man who has to shell out Rs. 200/- for daal.

You can't expect him to grow himself all that he eats - can you ? At-least Modi can make certain vital commodities cheaply available ! Granted - a poor man does not need petrol - sell it for Rs. 200/- a litre - who cares ?

    What do you say ?

    Ms Lydia....
I don't know if you are aware that pulses are being imported at present because we are unable to meet the demand. Hence prices are market regulated. Govt is focused on increasing pulses production. This is a long term plan & we all have to get together to overcome it.

Yes, we have a problem with pulses & there is no quick fix hog wash plan that you want Modi to change everything overnight.

Be a part of the effort to implement the change rather than look for cheap criticism for everything....

By the way Govt's action has brought down Onion prices. Any appreciation for this or the usual compulsive criticism??

Any rebuttal on the above 8 points??...
