Kundapur Sep 19: Many developmental programmes have taken place successfully, in a short span of 19 months of administration by the coalition government, said minister-in-charge Udupi district Dr V S Acharya here on Tuesday, Sept 19.
Acharya was speaking at the inaugural function of the Swarna Gramodaya Yojana programmes organized at Basrur gram panchayat in Kundapur taluk.
According to him the state government has provided many beneficiary programmes catering to all sections of the people in the society whether it is women, children or the working class. The government has sanctioned more than 180 degree colleges, 150 pre university colleges and 1,000 high schools in the state, this is a record when compared to last 58 years, thereby starting an educational revolution, he declared.
The government is planning to implement the Sandhya Suraksha Yojana especially for the persons aged above 65 years, stated Acharya. He also said that government is also aiming to provide basic necessities like good drinking water, drainage system, proper sanitation, road repairs and community halls for all villages under the Swarna Gramodaya Yojana. The prime concern of the government is an all-round development of the state, especially of the rural people, he added.
Former MLA Appanna Hegde, zilla panchayat president Shankar Poojary, taluk panchayat president Jyothi Putran and MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty were present on the occasion.
